There’s a lot of news coming out of the big international conference on retroviruses and opportunistic infections in the US this week: CROI 2015., which you can follow if you are on Twitter at #CROI2015 or you can go to AIDSmap for news items about the conference.
The highlights so far include results from two trials which indicate the effectiveness of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for gay men. Reports from the Partners Demonstration Project also indicate the efficacy of PrEP and antiretroviral treatment as a transitional strategy for serodiscordant heterosexual couples.
