This research is part of the ongoing PARTNER study and involved 1166 couples (548 were heterosexual) in serodifferent relationships who reported sex without condoms when the positive partner was on effective antiretroviral therapy (ART) and undetectable. There were no documented cases of transmission within these relationships during a follow up period of 1.3 years. The PARTNER study is important knowledge for people wanting to make informed decisions about sex within serodifferent relationships.
