Great news this week! HIV diagnoses in Australia are continuing to drop, with some areas seeing a 90 per cent reduction.
Professor Andrew Grulich, the head of the Kirby Institute’s HIV Epidemiology and Prevention Program, said he believed it was not impossible to achieve virtual elimination of the virus, but tackling HIV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities must stay a top priority.
