Ageing and HIV

The most recent Aidsmap HIV update is available and can be read at http://www.aidsmap.com/page/3168552.

There is a particularly interesting article about how people living with HIV who are over 50 define successful ageing. Canadian researchers interviewed 10 women and 14 men over an 18 month period and the key themes which emerged included being realistic about ageing, staying positive, maintaining social connections, living a healthy lifestyle and participating in meaningful activities. The authors writing in the International Journal of STDs and AIDS  (July, 2017) noted that there was a focus on social connections and avoiding social isolation more than on physical health.

If you are interested in discussing more about ageing, come along to the Pozhet Annual Workshop on the 21st October (see events) as ageing is the focus of one of the sessions.
